Swimming





Swimming is probably the most popular hobby in Iceland. Though Icelandic people, they don't necessarily swim, but lay or sit in the hot tubs. 

The oldest public swimming pool Seljavallalaug was founded in 1923. Though it has been officially closed already for years. It gets its water from the glaciers (cold) and from a hot spring the hot water. Temperature of the water is just perfect. 

Reykjadalur is magical place, where you can swim in the warm river (even in the middle of the winter). It's a place, where hot river (+80 degrees) and a cold river merges and they form the perfect (again) temperature water for laying in the middle of amazing nature. 

And of course there is also Blue Lagoon and a public swimming pool in every village. 


And you don't alway get to these spots without making yourself dirty:
