It has been again six days of documentaries in Helsinki. Docpoint is an annual documentary film festival in the city. I don't know how this happened, but this year I saw mainly heavy or even heavier documentaries. 

I truly recommend and insist that you watch these films - there's something all of us should be aware of.

(Sunny) Winter days rocks

Ihanaa, kun keittiön pöydälle mahtuu sunnuntaisin muutakin kuin jättisuuri Hesari. En ole täysin vakuuttunut kaikista Hesarin uudistuksista (taitto, fontit, kutistuneet jutut, iltapäivälehtimäisyys jne), mutta pienentynyt koko on ihan jees. Vähemmänkin se olisi toki voinut kutistua, jotta sitä ei sotkisi Metro-lehteen tai Iltasanomiin. 

Kihelmöivän mahtavaksi päivän teki erityisesti se, että ulkona paistoi AURINKO! Myös Hesarin kannessa oli tänään aurinko (Aurinkomatkojen mainos).

You know, when you are getting old

When you get old, you might get a hit on your head and start to love the Finnish national sport: cross-country skiing. Now I have an announcement: I'm old. 

A Week ago I bought my own skies, ski poles and skiing shoes. Last time I owned any ski equipment is when I was about 16 years old. It was a time, when I had to take part for school skiing / sports lessons. It was also the time, when sport lessons killed any kind of enthusiasm for sports. Especially for skiing. 

I have to admit that the idea of skiing (and I'm not talking about downhill skiing, when I talk about skiing) has been in my mind for several years already. Finally the end of the last year in Lapland I decided to take the next time and here we go. I just returned from the 8 km skiing trip and I'm planning the new one already. This 8 km might sounds very short, but for person like me, who haven't skied really for years, it's a long trip. I am sure, I will feel it tomorrow. Now I feel just happiness. 

Birthday weekend

Dear friend had a great idea for her birthday. She decided to have a birthday celebration, which last for the whole weekend. Kind of like a tiny festival. 

It started with the Back To The Future screening in a Restaurant Adam's film evening and continued to the Saturday brunch at her place. Of course there were dozens of different kind of delicates to eat and drink. I think she might be the brunch queen of this city. I also realized how much I missed brunches! Thank you Tubbs, let's have a brunch soon again!

Surprise

This strange fish soup was a real surprise. I didn't know at all what to expect. Afterwards I must say that I should have look at the fishes faces  more carefully before opening the tin.
