Birthday brunch

I turned (again) a bit older last week and I decided to make a small brunch for my friends. I don't know why I forgot to take any pictures of food, but you can see a picture of it here. The brunch was lovely, thank you my dears for that.

Later in the weekend I got sick. Couple of days hugging a toilet is not that nice - though it's a nicer with my new friends: 

Birthday weekend

Dear friend had a great idea for her birthday. She decided to have a birthday celebration, which last for the whole weekend. Kind of like a tiny festival. 

It started with the Back To The Future screening in a Restaurant Adam's film evening and continued to the Saturday brunch at her place. Of course there were dozens of different kind of delicates to eat and drink. I think she might be the brunch queen of this city. I also realized how much I missed brunches! Thank you Tubbs, let's have a brunch soon again!

All Hallows' Evening

 Our friends' had a costume party last night. It was great! 

Maastricht needs to be explored better

 

To be totally honest, I haven't had really any idea how is Maastricht. I was kind of imaging it as a boring Dutch city in somewhere there. I knew something about Euro, a year 1992, but that's about it. 

As Maastricht happened to be only 80 minutes drive from Antwerp and my friends live there, we drove there on last Monday. Pretty quickly I found out that also Maastricht is a city, where I should go and spend a bit more time to know it better. It's pretty small (120 000 inhabitants), but very adorable city along the river Maas. 

After the wedding in France you woke up in Antwerp and wonder what happened?

Last Saturday & Sunday there was friends' wedding near to Lille, France. In that part of the world the distances are ridiculously short: after one hour of driving you are already in the capital of the neighbour country and in two hours in somewhere else.

Just like that we desided to go to see Antwerp in the Sunday afternoon. We liked it and stayed a night over. Only 80 minutes drive from Antwerp there is Maastricht, which happen to be a city where lives my friends. And off we went on Monday to spend the day with them (luckyly they both didn't work before the evening). So, on Monday we had a breakfast in Belgium, lunch and dinner in Maastricht, The Netherlands and went to sleep at home in France. Crazy, I say.

When the sun is shining one wont sleep

Last weekend was probably the hottest for this summer. Even the big rocks started to get warm. My sister and her boyfriend were visiting us from Cambridge. Such a shame that the weekend went so fast. Could have great to spend more time chatting and wondering around.

On Saturday evening, with the setting sun and the flaming sky, it was wonderful to dance our friends' wedding. All the best A&J!

Who could stop the time?

Voi tätä hommien määrää. Kauniit ja aurinkoiset päivät menevät toimistossa istuen ja tuntuu, että tällä tavalla ihana kesä valuu ohi aivan huomaamatta. Kurkkua kuristaa ja harmittaa. Onneksi kotona sentään odotti vakuutusyhtiön päätös varastetun kameran korvauksista. Niin, se on itse asiassa tälle viikolle jo kolmas iloinen uutinen. Ensimmäinen oli ystävien naimakaupat ja toinen erään toisen vesimiesvauva. Mitähän sitä uskaltaisi huomiselta odottaa?

PS. Mistä tuntee toimistotyöntekijän? No, tietenkin valkoisista kintuista ja siitä epätoivoisesta katseesta ja hitaasta askeleesta puistolounaan jälkeen.

Other pictures of my Friday evening are censored. We had my friend Anna's surprise hen party (ooh and she was surprised) and we went to a small and very welcoming dance studio to try burlesque dancing! 

It was wonderful, we all were amazingly pretty from the tip to toe. Some extra lashes, good make-up and flowers in the hair.. Our hosts from The Itty Bitty Tease Cabaret were the best. Burlesque is something, what every woman should try. It's so good for your self-esteem and making the tassels to go round, is so much fun! 

PS. The amount of attention what we got afterwards in the restaurant, was just perfect. ;)

It was a day for two

Lasillinen samppanjaa tekee elämästä heti moninkerroin arvokkaampaa. Kyllä, se varmasti johtuu siitä, että lasillinen maksaa tuplat peruskuohariin verrattuna, mutta suotakoon tällaisia pieniä hohdokkaita hetkiä itsekullekin. Se, että ulkona sataa vettä ja on hyytävän kosteaa, ei tarkoita, että täytyisi rämpiä tuossa loskassa itsekin 24/7. Muutaman tunnin ajan voi kuvitella sipsutellevansa 12 cm koroissa pariisilaisilla kaduilla ja kohentaa design takkinsa kauluksia. 

Ei sillä niin väliä, että kahvilasta lähtiessä lontustaa menemään tasapohjaisilla maihareilla kirppistakissa. Sydän on kevyt ja mielikin hetken järjestyksessä. Kiitos D.

Small little animals

Vietimme ihanaa joulubrunssia ystävän luona. Kaiholla edelleen ajattelen sitä haudutettua riisipuuroa ja rouvan itsensä tekemää saaristolaisleipää. Pikkutyyppien muovieläimet ovat mahtavia kuvauskohteita! Ja Miranda Hart rocks. Parasta, mitä tv:stä tulee tällä hetkellä! 

Lovely weekend

Suloinen viikonloppu ystävien sohvalla Jyväskylässä, syöden voileipägrillileipiä, täydellisesti haudutettua spelttipuuroa, vähän joulumarkkinoita, saunaa ja ihania ihmisiä. Sunnuntai-iltana vielä veljeni ystävineen majoittuu yöksi, takanaan heillä on juuri 8 800 kilometriä auton ratissa ja mittaamattoman paljon matkatarinoita. 


Lunta voisi tulla jo. 

Forgotten films

We have some "funny cameras" as we call them. One Holga, some vintage TLR and SLR's plus some toys like Fuji Instax mini camera and a super sampler. 

It has happened that we've kind of forgot to bring to films to a photo shop and finally today we got the pictures back. There where many surprises over a year ago! Nice to spend a Monday evening looking at the pictures from the Summer 2010, our house warming party and friends' weddings!
